The Mets (20-12) were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers (17-16) by a score of 3-2 tonight at Dodger Stadium.
Pitching:
Jacob deGrom got the start for the Mets, and despite a rough first inning that saw the young righty let up two runs, pitched well the rest of the game.
DeGrom’s final line has him going seven innings, allowing just the two runs on eight hits, while walking zero and striking out four.
Antonio Bastardo pitched another scoreless inning in the eighth, but Hansel Robles let up a walk-off home run to Trayce Thompson in the bottom of the ninth.
Offense:
After the Dodgers scored two in the bottom of the first, the Mets answered right back in the top of the second.
Michael Conforto reached on an error which scored a run, and Kevin Plawecki kept up his hot hitting, driving in a run with single to knot up the game.
Unfortunately, this would be the end of the scoring for the Mets, as the Dodgers blanked them the rest of the game.
On deck:
Noah Syndergaard (2-2, 2.58 ERA) takes on Kenta Maeda (3-1, 1.66 ERA) tomorrow night at 10:10 PM for the third game of a four game series.
