Syracuse won a second straight game over the Omaha Storm Chasers as they scored nine runs on 11 hits.
The Mets jumped out to a comfortable lead thanks to a seven-run second inning. Gosuke Katoh opened the scoring with an RBI triple before Francisco Álvarez, Mark Vientos, and Travis Blankenhorn added RBI singles.
Katoh and Blankenhorn would each add solo home runs to pad the lead. All seven of Katoh’s homers have come in July, while Blankehorn boosted his OPS to .841 on the season.

The Rumble Ponies out-slugged the Fisher Cats thanks to a huge night from Brett Baty.
Baty delivered the keynote with a solo home run in the first inning. He’d drive in another two runs with a single in the fourth before adding an exclamation point with a grand slam in the eighth. The 22-year-old Baty has had an incredible month, batting .375/.439/.716 with eight home runs in 88 at-bats. He’s hit safely in 12 consecutive games while logging two or more hits in his last six contests.

Garrison Bryant got off to a shaky start, allowing four runs on three home runs in the second inning. However, the 23-year-old righty would settle down and blank the Fisher Cats over his final three innings to earn his first win in Double-A.
Mitch Ragan allowed three runs in the ninth but would hang on to close out the Rumble Ponies’ victory.

The Mets scored five runs on nine hits as they evened their series with the Hudson Valley Renegades.
Shervyen Newton broke a scoreless tie with a home run in the fifth inning. Nic Gaddis would drive in another two runs with a single later in the inning.
Stanley Consuegra and Alex Ramirez would add a pair of insurance runs in the ninth with an RBI single and a sac fly. Ramirez is now 21-for-70 with three home runs and a .896 OPS since his promotion to High-A.

Dominic Hamel was excellent Friday, allowing just four hits over six scoreless innings. Hamel, the Mets’ third-round pick in 2021, is now 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA in four starts with Brooklyn.
Nathan Lavender earned his second save of the year, striking out three in two scoreless innings. The lefthander has allowed just a single earned run in 11.1 innings with the Cyclones. The 14th-round pick now has a 0.60 ERA across 30 innings between Brooklyn and St. Lucie.

The Mets dropped a close game to the Palm Beach Cardinals despite logging four solo home runs in the contest, including a pair from Junior Tilien.
Justin Guerrera opened the scoring with a home run in the second inning. William Lugo and Tilien then went back-to-back in the fifth inning to tie the game at three. Lugo has been red hot of late with hits in his last six contests, going 11-for-25 with four home runs in that span.
