Giancarlo Stanton‘s camp has sent the Miami Marlins a list of teams that he would accept trades to according to Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.
One of the biggest questions of the offseason thus far is about which team Stanton will be traded to ultimately. Derek Jeter and company have stressed the fact that they want to cut payroll and Stanton’s contract being moved would go a long way to reaching that goal.
While it is not currently clear which teams do not appear on that list, Stanton has yet to formally reject any trades. Even the teams that aren’t on the list are negotiable for Stanton.
One of the teams that is on the list is the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers would make sense for Stanton who is a California native. Dodger Stadium is a mere 16 miles from his old high school in Sherman Oaks, California. The Marlins and Dodgers have had talks about Stanton, but they have been fruitless so far.
The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants are the two known teams that have had genuine interest, with the Giants leading the way. However, Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com notes that there are several mystery teams engaged in conversations with the Marlins.

Mark Appel, the 2013 first overall pick, has been unclaimed on waivers. He therefore has been outrighted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
The Seattle Mariners announced that they signed Hisashi Iwakuma to a minor-league contract. He will also be receiving an invitation to Spring Training.
The 36-year-old Iwakuma has spent his six-year Major League career with the Mariners and has compiled a 63-39 record, 3.42 ERA, 1.143 WHIP, and 714 strikeouts in 883 2/3 innings and 150 games (136 starts).
Yu Darvish currently has six serious suitors and a handful of other teams interested from a distance according to Jim Bowden of SiriusXM.
The Cleveland Indians have a minor-league deal in place with Brandon Barnes according to Chris Cotillo of SB Nation.
Cotillo also tweeted that the Milwaukee Brewers have claimed Dylan Baker off waivers from the Indians. Baker was designated for assignment along with Kyle Crockett on Nov. 20 in preparation for the Rule 5 Draft.
A source confirms to Cotillo that the Dodgers signed switch-pitcher Pat Venditte to a minor-league deal.
Josh Edgin received a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles according Roch Kubatko of MASN. Edgin pitched five seasons with the Mets from 2012-2017 (he missed 2015 due to injury). He pitched to the tune of a 3.49 ERA and 1.279 WHIP while striking out 116 in 129 innings.
