The San Francisco Giants will now have roughly $9 million to invest back into their team after shipping southpaw Matt Moore off to the Texas Rangers on Friday.
In exchange, the Giants received $750 thousand of international bonus pool money and minor league right-handers Sam Wolff and Israel Cruz.
Moore, 28, went 6-15 with a 5.52 ERA, 4.75 FIP, 1.532 WHIP and 76 ERA+ last year for San Francisco in 174.1 innings pitched.
The Los Angeles Angels announced they have signed infielder Zack Cozart. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports the deal is for three-years, $38 million.
Cozart, 32, had a breakout season in 2017 when he hit .297/.385/.548 with 24 doubles, seven triples, 24 home runs. 141 OPS+ and struck out only 78 times in 438 at-bats.
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed first baseman Carlos Santana to a three-year, $60 million deal according to Jon Heyman of Fan Rag Sports. There is also a team option for a fourth season at $17.5 million.
Santana, 31, has been with the Cleveland Indians for the entirety of his Major League career. He was primarily a catcher from 2010 to 2014 when he started shifting to first base. He has played at least 150 games in every season since 2011 except for 2012 when he played in 143.
The San Diego Padres have acquired shortstop Freddy Galvis from the Philadelphia Phillies for pitching prospect Enyel De Los Santos according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.
Galvis, 28, hit just .255/.309/.382, with 80 wRC+, 29 doubles, six triples, 12 home runs and 14 stolen bases in 2017 for the Phillies. He was a poor defender with -5 DRS, but did have a 3.5 UZR/150. For his career, Galvis has -10 DRS in 4276 innings at shortstop.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have signed former Stony Brook University and Miami Marlins product Tom Koehler to a one-year pact according to SB Nation‘s Chris Cotillo.
Free agent outfielder Oswaldo Arcia has signed a one-year deal that includes a mutual option for 2019 with the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters in Japan, Jon Heyman of Fan Rag reports.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today says that while the Washington Nationals have had casual discussions with star outfielder Bryce Harper on an extension, they fully expect him to test the open market next winter.
In addition to Harper, the Nationals also discussed their future with Anthony Rendon, another Scott Boras client. Rendon is eligible for arbitration the second to last time this season.
