First reported by Scott Mitchell of TSN Sports, the Blue Jays have shipped veteran reliever Daniel Hudson to the Nationals for minor leaguer Kyle Johnson.
Hudson, 32, is having his best season since 2010 and is pitching to the tune of a 3.00 ERA. He still struggles with walks, handing out more than four free passes every nine innings.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Nationals have acquired veteran lefty Roenis Elias from the Mariners. Elias, who turns 31 tomorrow, has posted a 4.4o ERA so far this season. Elias has struggled against lefties this season, putting up reverse splits.
