According to Jeff Passan of ESPN, sources have told him that Major League Baseball will be renaming the disabled list to the “injured list.”

Passan notes that the league “will be making the change out of concern that the term “disabled” for injured players falsely conflates disabilities with injuries and an inability to participate in sports.”

The source told Passan that the rules of the “injury list” will remain the same for now. Although, as pointed out earlier this week by Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic the MLB Players Association and Commissioner Rob Manfred are still discussing potential changes to the lists’ usage.

Recently, the league showed interest in reestablishing the 15-day DL. On the other hand, the union has proposed the use of a 15 day-DL for pitchers and 10-day DL for position players.
