Brian McCann announced his retirement after the Atlanta Braves 13-1 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 5 of the NLDS.

McCann, 35, played in parts of 15 seasons in the game, 10 of which he spent with the Atlanta Braves who he returned to for his final season with a one-year, $2 million contract.

In his career split between the Braves, New York Yankees, and Houston Astros, the catcher hit .262/.337/.452 with 282 homers and 1,018 RBI to give himself a career 110 OPS+ and 31.8 bWAR.
