Former Mets catcher Mike Piazza will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch at Citi Field before Game 3 on Friday night.

Piazza was a six-time All-Star during his eight seasons with the Mets and was on the 2000 team, the last Mets team to play in the World Series. Piazza also threw out the first pitch on September 20 before the start of the Subway Series. He also appeared last night on Late Night with Seth Myers to talk about the Mets’ postseason run.

On Saturday night, country singer and actor Tim McGraw, the son of former Mets pitcher Tug McGraw, will throw out the first pitch before Game 4. Tug McGraw was of course the Met who coined the term “Ya Gotta Believe” in 1973.

The Mets will certainly need some believing as they head home down two games to none.
