New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto took 50 swings in batting practice this morning, including 15 that were taken during live BP.

Conforto, 25, is currently working his way back from major shoulder surgery last season. In addition to suffering a dislocation of his left shoulder, he also suffered a tear of the posterior shoulder capsule.

“I don’t know about 100 percent, but I’m swinging pretty hard, pretty freely,” Conforto said about swinging. “I don’t think about the shoulder. It’s more of just trying to feel the barrel and getting back into that. Today was a good day.”

As per reports out of PSL, Conforto took 10 swings off of a tee, 25 via soft-toss, and 15 came in regular batting practice. The Mets have been anticipating a May return for the young standout. This certainly bodes well for those hopes.
