In Wednesday afternoon’s game against the Marlins, Mets outfielder Michael Conforto had a huge game in which he mashed two home runs, the first of which was his 100th career home run.

His 100th career home run was also the shortest, traveling 333 feet as he tucked it just inside the right field foul pole. Number 101 was a little more typical of the 2017 All Star, traveling 368 feet to the opposite field. Overall he went 2-for-3 with a walk, three RBIs, and three runs scored.

“It’s a special moment for me,” Conforto said on the field after the game. “I wasn’t thinking about it before the game but I couldn’t pick a better place to do it than right here at home.”

Conforto, 26, is now slashing .261/.370/.512 this season with 25 home runs and 64 RBIs. With his two home runs, he has now hit 25 or more home runs in three consecutive seasons (27 in 2017, 28 in 2018).

He ranks 14th all time among Mets all time with his 101 home runs, with Carlos Delgado next on the list with 104.

Congrats on #100, Scooter!
