The Mets offense has started to hit its stride again and because of that, the team has found itself in the midst of a three-game winning streak.

While Wilson Ramos‘ grand-slam on Tuesday night against Jeremy Hellickson of the Washington Nationals was the highlight of the game, Michael Conforto has played a very big role in the Mets offensive success the last few games.

On Tuesday night, Conforto went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in the Mets’ 6-2 victory in Washington.

In the previous two games that were against the Miami Marlins, the left-handed slugger was 5-for-6 with two home runs, two walks, and four runs scored. Conforto has also reached base safely now in each of his last five games.

The 26-year-old is now hitting a superb .275/.414/.514 with eight home runs and 18 RBI on the year to give himself a 153 wRC+ and fWAR 1.6 WAR.

Conforto has been strong in the field this season too, registering four defensive runs saved and 0.4 UZR this season playing exclusively right field.

Last season, the outfielder got off to a very rough start and did not go through a normal Spring Training after suffering a shoulder injury the year prior.

However, Conforto finished the season strong last year hitting .273/.356/.539 with 17 home runs and 52 RBI in the second half as compared to a lowly .216/.344/.366 with 11 home runs and 30 RBI in the first half.

So far, Conforto looks like he’s picking up right where he left off in the second half last season and the team will be hoping to see him continue that as the season goes on.

Many came into this season with very high expectations for Conforto believing this would be his true breakout season.

It remains to be seen if this will be viewed as that in the long run, but nobody is complaining about how Conforto has produced thus far.
