Jon Heyman of MLB Network was the first to report that the Mets vs Nationals series has been postponed as Major League Baseball continues to do contact tracing and further testing.

Nationals GM Mike Rizzo told the media on Thursday that the Nationals had three players test positive for COVID-19 and another “likely” positive.

Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets will likely stay in D.C. to workout before taking a bus to Philly on Sunday.

The Mets will now begin the 2021 season in Philadelphia vs the Phillies on Monday at 7:05 p.m. ET. The game will be on SNY.
