According to Jon Heyman of FanCred, he has heard Mets would not be willing to do a Michael ConfortoBrandon Nimmo combo in a trade with the Miami Marlins for J.T. Realmuto and refuse to move Amed Rosario at all.

The Mets have been linked to Realmuto for a while now, and the connection from a CAA player to the former co-head of CAA is there.

Realmuto, 27, has two years of club control left after being named an All-Star for the first time last year. Realmuto has been represented by Jeff Berry of CAA for his career, making an aforementioned connection to Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen very clear. The former CAA agent said this about regarding any move that would require dealing players off the MLB roster.

“If we had a chance to get another guy that can impact the middle of our lineup,” said Van Wagenen to Jim Bowden on MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM, “whatever position he plays, we’d be foolish not to explore it.”

Van Wagenen’s mission statement all off-season has been to improve in any possible way and to explore all avenues, and he seems to be holding true to this.
