According to Jon Heyman of FanCred, the Mets are about to name Chili Davis as their next hitting coach. Davis was let go by the Chicago Cubs earlier this offseason and previously had served in the same capacity with the Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics.

Heyman also mentions that the Mets are adding Chuck Hernandez as their bullpen coach. He served as the Braves bullpen coach the past few seasons. He used to be a bullpen coach in Cleveland during the 2009 season. This was before Callaway was there so there is not much connection between the two. Hernandez was also the Marlins pitching coach from 2013-2015.

The Mets are also adding Luis Rojas to their staff as a quality control coach. Rojas served in that role with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies last year. He is a popular member of the organization and he is just 37-years old. He has managed up and down the Mets system and has earned praise everywhere he has been. Probably the best addition to the MLB staff of these three.

Finally, the Mets have hired Zach Weber away from the Brewers for their P.R. department. His official title is Manager of Media Relations. Weber was actually an intern for the Mets in 2008.
