The New York Mets and Noah Syndergaard have avoided arbitration, the right-handed pitcher will be paid $6.0 million during the 2019 season according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

MLB Trade Rumors predicted that Syndergaard would get $5.9 million. He made $2,975,000 during the 2018 season. The Texan will be a free agent after the 2021 season.

Syndergaard, 26, went 13-4 with a 3.03 ERA, 2.80 FIP, 1.21 WHIP, and posted a 4.0 bWAR over 154.1 innings for the Mets in 2018. He did see his strikeout numbers drop to 9.0 K/9 and his 2.3 BB/9 were a career-high.

The Mets early offseason chatter was dominated rumors of the Mets listening to trade offers for Syndergaard, though those have completely died down over the last month or so.

Jacob deGrom,  Zack Wheeler, and Syndergaard will form one of the better trios of starters in the majors.
