The Mets have signed right-handed reliever Dellin Betances according to Andy Martino of SNY. Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports that it’s a one-year deal.

Heyman notes that Betances will get $5.3 million signing bonus and $2.2 million base for 2020. It comes with $6 million 2021 player option with $3 million buyout if he doesn’t exercise.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the deal also has a player option for 2021, and a vesting player option for 2022.

Betances, 31, pitched in only one game during the 2019 season due to shoulder issues and a partial Achilles tear.

Betances has a career 2.36 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and an incredible 14.6 K/9 in 381 2/3 innings over eight seasons for the Yankees.

The Brooklyn native has been working out at Impact Zone in New Jersey alongside Mets reliever Jeurys Familia this offseason.
