The New York Mets have gotten to quick work on their offseason tasks, as they announced 11 minor league free agent signings Wednesday.

Here is the list of the signings:

Mallex Smith is one notable outside addition, as the 27-year-old speedster led the AL in stolen bases with 46 in 2019 and in triples (10) in 2018. Smith made his debut with the Atlanta Braves in 2016, before spending two years with the Tampa Bay Rays and the last two seasons in Seattle.

Smith hit .133/.170/.178 in 45 at-bats this season, and was eventually outrighted off the Mariners roster.

Arodys Vizcaíno is another interesting name for the Mets, due to his great track record pitching in the NL East. Prior to 2020, Vizcaíno spent the five seasons with the Atlanta Braves, where he pitched to a 2.95 ERA, with 214 strikeouts in 189 1/3 innings pitched.

Vizcaíno missed nearly all of the 2019 season after needing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He was a free agent for the entirety of the 2020 season.

José Peraza played 34 games this season with the Boston Red Sox, but the utilityman struggled at the dish. Peraza was a fixture with the Cincinnati Reds for four seasons from 2016 through 2019, hitting .274/.313/.372, while playing every position but first base, right field and catcher.

Mitchell Tolman comes from the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, having been drafted by the team in the seventh round in 2015. He has yet to make his MLB debut.

Oscar De La Cruz was signed as an international free agent by the Chicago Cubs back in 2013. He has pitched to a 3.45 ERA across seven seasons in their farm system, but has not appeared in the majors.

Harol González, Jake Hager, Johneshwy Fargas, Luis Carpio, Bruce Maxwell and David Rodriguez are all returning to the Mets after spending the 2020 season at the club’s alternate site.
