The Mets announced that the player to be named later in the deal to acquire reliever Alex Torres from the San Diego Padres is left-handed pitcher Brad Wieck.

Right-hander Cory Mazzoni was already shipped to the Padres when the Mets acquired Torres in March, so Wieck now completes the deal.

A seventh round selection in the 2014 First Year Player Draft, Wieck owns a 3.21 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in ten starts for Single-A Savannah this season.

In 56.0 innings pitched he has struck out 74 batters while walking 21 with a 11.89 K/9 and 3.55 K/BB.

The 23-year-old southpaw made his professional debut last season with Short-Season Brooklyn, posting a 1.40 ERA and .181 BAA in 16 relief appearances with 39 strikeouts and six walks in 25.2 innings.
