The New York Mets removed outfielder Eric Young Jr. from the 40-man roster on Friday, making him a free agent.
He joins Anthony Recker and Wilfredo Tovar who also became free agents after they were outrighted on Thursday.
This puts the Mets 40-man roster at 37.
In his second stint with the Mets, Young went 0-for-8 with nine runs scored after being acquired from the Atlanta Braves in late August.
He was used primarily as a pinch runner and was not included on any of Mets’ postseason rosters.
