According to Jon Heyman of Fancred Sports, the New York Mets have received some interest in outfielder Jose Bautista.

Since joining the Mets, Bautista has hit .230/.389/.425 with 10 doubles and four home runs. He’s been versatile defensively, playing multiple infield and outfield positions. The veteran has posted a WAR of 0.9 in his short stint with the Mets.

Bautista, 37, was signed on May 22 after being released by the Atlanta Braves two days earlier. Bautista spent the majority of his career north of the border with the Toronto Blue Jays and is a free agent after the season.

As it appears he’ll head to a contending team, he has two seasons of playoff experience, making it to the ALDS with the Blue Jays in 2015 and 2016. The Mets would be wise to get any type of value for Bautista after picking him up off the scrap heap.
