After Thursday night’s 16-inning, 3-2 loss to San Francisco in which six New York Mets relievers (Seth Lugo, Luis Avilan, Edwin Diaz, Jeurys Familia, Robert Gsellman, and Justin Wilson) held the Giants scoreless once Noah Syndergaard left after seven innings of one-run ball, this bullpen needs all the help it can get.

As per a team announcement, the Mets have recalled right-handed relievers Tyler Bashlor and Stephen Nogosek and optioned right-hander Chris Mazza and infielder Luis Guillorme to Triple-A Syracuse.

Bashlor, 26, has pitched to a 5.40 ERA with 12 strikeouts and seven walks over 13 appearances (11.2 innings) with the Mets this season. Over 24 relief appearances (28 innings) for the Syracuse Mets, Bashlor owns a 4.50 ERA with 30 strikeouts and 10 walks.

Nogosek, 24, was acquired by the Mets in the 2017 trade that sent Addison Reed to Boston. During his initial stint in the majors earlier this season, Nogosek allowed four earned runs over five appearances (4.2 innings) with three punchouts and two walks.

Over 38.2 innings (24 appearances) between Double-A Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse this season, the right-hander owns a 0.47 ERA with 39 strikeouts and 18 walks.

Mazza, 30, made his MLB debut with the Mets in June and has allowed two runs over 8.2 innings in relief (four appearances) with six strikeouts and two walks.

Over 13 appearances (78 innings, all as a starter) with Binghamton and Syracuse, the eight-year MiLB veteran owns a 3.69 ERA with a 70-to-21 strikeouts-to-walks ratio.

Guillorme, 24, has received just 23 major-league plate appearances in 2019 (.182/.217/.182) despite carrying a .313/.418/.434 slash line over 56 games with Syracuse (222 plate appearances).
