The Mets announced on Thursday afternoon they’ve selected the contract of Tommy Hunter from Triple-A Syracuse and he will be active for today’s game. In the corresponding move, the Mets optioned Jordan Yamamoto to Triple-A.

Hunter was signed to a minor league deal this offseason and Tim Britton of The Athletic reports that Tommy could’ve opted out if the Mets didn’t add him to the roster today.

To make room for Hunter on the 40-man roster, the Mets have transferred Carlos Carrasco to the 60-day injured list. That means the earliest that Carrasco can return is May 31.

Justin Toscano of The Record reports that Carrasco hasn’t suffered a setback, that the Mets are just deciding to be cautious with his return. Despite the Mets saying it’s not a setback, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports that Carrasco will no longer pitch in a minor league game on Sunday.

Carrasco suffered a Grade 1 right hamstring strain back in March. He had thrown six innings in his most recent rehab start on Tuesday in Port St. Lucie.
