
The New York Mets have announced that they have recalled Jacob Rhame and optioned Tyler Bashlor to Triple-A Syracuse. They also announced that they have claimed reliever Donnie Hart from the Milwaukee Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A.
Rhame, 26, has appeared in four games (five innings) for the Mets this season in which he has allowed four runs (three earned). He hasn’t faired much better in the minors with a 5.40 ERA and 1.210 WHIP in 21 appearances (20 2/3 innings) split between Single-A St.Lucie and Triple-A.
Bashlor, also 26, has shown promise at times, but hasn’t produced for the Mets overall this season with a 7.16 ERA, 7.32 FIP, and 1.653 WHIP. He has 14 strikeouts as compared to 10 walks in 18 appearances (16 1/3 innings). The right-hander allowed a three-run homer to Starling Marte in the seventh inning on Friday night.
Hart, 28, appeared in four games (6 2/3 innings) with the Brewers this season in which he allowed no runs and struck out three batters. In Triple-A, he appeared in 40 games (37 1/3 innings) in which he had a 4.10 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 7.2 K/9 as compared to 3.1 BB/9.
The left-hander has spent parts of four seasons in the majors, mostly with the Baltimore Orioles, in which he registered a 3.17 ERA, 4.38 FIP, and 1.477 WHIP with 5.8 K/9 as compared to 3.6 BB/9.
