After tonight’s 4-0 win over the Rockies, the Mets announced they have called up Anthony Recker and optioned Kevin Plawecki to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Plawecki, 24, hit .228 with a .283 on-base percentage in 227 plate appearances with eight doubles, two homeruns and 17 RBIs for the Mets.
Recker, 31, was batting .257 for Triple-A Las Vegas with eight homers and 21 RBI in 105 plate appearances.
This move was widely expected once Travis d’Arnaud resumed his regular starting catcher duties. Plawecki obviously needs the regular playing time, plus he’ll be back September 1.
