According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the Mets have re-signed Ruben Tejada to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Syracuse for the time being.

Tejada had a successful season with Syracuse, batting .330/.408/.476. He was briefly given a chance with the Mets, going 0-for-9 before he was designated for assignment on August 22. The Mets officially released him and made him a free agent on August 27.

With the Syracuse Mets’ season coming to an end on Monday, Tejada will likely be selected by the Mets soon. However, they will have to make a corresponding move as Tejada is not currently on the 40-man roster.
