Lucus Duda is now on the 15-day DL with a left intercostal strain Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork has reported.
The Mets have recalled infielder Zach Lutz from Triple-A to replace him on the roster.
Lutz, 27, was hitting .286 (53-185) with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 37 RBIs in 53 Pacific Coast League games. He will wear uniform No. 19.

Lucas Duda has an injured side muscle, and will meet with team doctors at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, Terry Collins told reporters on Saturday.
Duda has been dealing with soreness from yesterday’s game in Atlanta and when he arrived at Citizens Bank Park this morning for treatment, the pain continued and the decision was made to send him to New York.
“He was pretty sore yesterday when the game was over and was still sore today,” Collins told reporters.
As a result, Daniel Murphy will shift from second base and start at first base while Jordany Valdespin will get the start at second base. Collins added that Josh Satin will start at first base tomorrow.
Collins said the Mets might consider promoting Ike Davis if Duda needs to go on the disabled list.
“If Lucas has to go on the disabled list, Ike’s got to be certainly in the conversation,” Collins said.
Davis walloped two more home runs for the Las Vegas 51s on Friday night, despite a 5-3 loss to the Tucson Sidewinders at Kino Stadium in Arizona.
For the 26-year old Davis, it was his second straight two-homer game and with those blasts his confidence is now at an all time high as he continues his comeback to the major leagues.
Duda is hitting .235 with 11 home runs and 23 RBI in 68 games this season.
If Duda does end up on the DL, it would open up more time playing time for Juan Lagares in center field, while Eric Young Jr. would likely play everyday in left field.
