The Mets have placed Johan Santana on the disabled list with an ankle injury.

This is the same ankle injury that Santana suffered in his start against the Cubs two weeks ago after Reed Johnson stepped on it in a collision at first base.

Terry Collins said that Santana’s injured ankle was not allowing him to land properly and that his shoulder is fine. Collins is also concerned that arm shoulder fatigue could be affecting Santana as well.

Since injuring his ankle, Santana is 0-3 with a 13.51 ERA in three starts.

Collins also said that no determination has been made regarding whether Matt Harvey will join the rotation in light of the news on Santana. But the Mets already announced that Jeremy Hefner will be called up from Buffalo for now.
