What goes up, must come down…

To make room for second baseman Dilson Herrera on the active roster, the Mets optioned Jack Leathersich back to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday afternoon.

Leathersich made just two appearances during his brief stay, pitching to one batter on Wednesday and then on Thursday he got hit hard, allowing two hits including a bases loaded double letting all three inherited runners to score.

We’ll see Jack again I’m sure…

The Mets optioned Rafael Montero back to Triple-A Las Vegas after Tuesday’s loss to the Marlins and called up lefty reliever Jack Leathersich from Vegas.

Leathersich was having a solid season as the closer for Las Vegas going 7-for-7 in save opportunities with a 2.57 ERA in seven innings, walking two and striking out 13 batters.
