The New York Mets announced they have optioned reliever Chris Mazza to Triple-A Syracuse and recalled reliever Drew Gagnon, who will join the Mets in Atlanta.

Mazza, 29, has appeared in four games for the Mets this season, recording a 5.19 ERA, 3.56 FIP, and 1.731 WHIP across 8.2 innings.

Gagnon, 29, flirted with a perfect game last week and is rewarded with another chance at the big league level. He has appeared in 15 games for the Mets this season, recording a 7.65 ERA, 6.87 FIP, and 1.650 WHIP across 20.0 innings. He has been stricken by the long ball as in those 20 innings, he’s allowed six home runs.

He has made 12 starts for Triple-A Syracuse this season and has gone 6-4 with a 2.15 ERA and 1.042 WHIP across 71 innings.
