USATSI juan lagares

The roster is about to get as back to normal as it can.  Adam Rubin of ESPN has reported that Juan Lagares took like batting practice on Monday in Port St. Lucie.  His last appearance was back on June 1st.  Lagares has been nursing a strain on his right side and hopes to be back in the lineup soon.  John Lannan who has been away from the team for some time threw today in Port St. Lucie, with some of his work going against Lagares.

Dillon Gee threw off of a mound for the first time since his injury.  Gee is in line to throw one more session off a mound before possibly making a rehab start.  Adam Rubin mentions that Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen stated that Gee could throw live batting practice which is also another step in the right direction.

Gee back in the rotation will be huge, as the Mets look to gain some ground against the rest of the teams in the NL East.  The Mets still need consistency in the lineup not only in production but in the order as well.  Maybe Largares’ return can help that.
