Leading up to tonight’s 7:45PM game, the Mets announced that they have recalled left hander Joey Lucchesi from the team’s alternate training site.

Lucchesi will be the team’s starter tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals, as the Mets look to continue their hot streak.

Fellow left hander Daniel Zamora had been optioned to the alternate training site following the game last night.

It will be interesting to see what the team does with Zamora moving forward, as he hasn’t pitched since 2019, and has a 4.08 ERA across 33 games since he made the team in 2018.

Lucchesi will make his third start (fourth game) and is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA (six earned runs/8.0 innings) with two walks and 11 strikeouts. The southpaw has pitched to a 60 ERA+ and a stellar 1.49 FIP.

The Mets also released Caleb Joseph from his split contract with the team, according to MLBTR.  The move apparently took place last week.
