New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has been named the National League Pitcher of the Month for April after putting together an incredible month.
As has been the case for the past few years, deGrom has been dominating Major League Baseball and he’s off to a spectacular start in the 2021 season, putting himself firmly in contention for a third Cy Young Award.
Having won two of the past three NL Cy Young Awards, deGrom seems to get better and better with age and he’s pitching at the very peak of his powers right now.
He led the National League with an impressive o.51 ERA and also struckout 59 in April, while recording a o.57 WHIP in 35 innings pitched, and he has been the standout early MVP for the Mets so far this season.
DeGrom has also impressed at the plate having put together three runs from six hits and, not for the first time in his career, he has absolutely carried this team on his back.
Jacob deGrom is absolutely dominating right now and his incredible April is testament to why he is the best pitcher in baseball right now.
