High-A Brooklyn

Alex Ramirez also had a solid series going 6-for-22 with a stolen base and four RBIs. Ramirez is batting .270/.326/.452 with five home runs and three stolen bases in 31 games since he was promoted to High-A.

Meanwhile, Keyshawn Askew ran into some trouble in his second start with the Cyclones allowing four runs on seven hits through five innings while punching out five.
Low-A St. Lucie
The St. Lucie Mets took four of six from the Clearwater Threshers to improve to 64-43 this year.
St. Lucie had some big offensive showings last week highlighted by Raul Beracierta who went 10-for-28 with two doubles, a home run, and eight RBIs, and Carlos Dominguez, who had nine hits and three home runs in 24 at-bats with nine RBIs. Beracierta is now slashing .303/.350/.471 on the year with 12 home runs. Dominguez leads St. Lucie with 19 homers this season.
Omar De Los Santos had a great series as well with nine hits, including two doubles and a home run, in 28 at-bats. De Los Santos also stole four bases to give him 60 for the season. De Los Santos became the first Mets’ farmhand to reach the 60-steal threshold since Carlos Gomez in 2005.
Jordan Geber was solid in his second start for the Mets allowing just a run in 5.1 innings on six hits while striking out a pair.
Calvin Ziegler made his second appearance since returning from injury and struck out three in two hitless innings.

Players of the Week
Offensive – Carlos Dominguez, OF St. Lucie
Dominguez powered St. Lucie’s offense this week with three home runs and nine RBIs raising his OPS to .795 for the year.
The 22-year-old outfielder got off to a fast start in his first season with 11 home runs in his first 137 at-bats. Dominguez cooled off in June and July but he’s been heating back up in August with a .341/.455/.591 line in 44 at-bats.
Dominguez faces an uphill battle as a 22-year-old in Low-A but his combination of power and speed (18 stolen bases) offers some intrigue moving forward. He should be on the shortlist for a move to Brooklyn and it’ll be interesting to see how he can adapt to advanced competition.
Pitching – Dominic Hamel, RHP Brooklyn
There weren’t many stellar pitching performances this week but Hamel continued his excellence in High-A as he improved to 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA in Brooklyn.
In six starts Hamel has yet to allow more than three earned runs while sporting an impressive 1.07 WHIP. The 23-year-old right-hander is establishing himself as one of the more intriguing arms in the Mets’ system as he continues to rise in the organization.
