Salt Lake 9, Las Vegas (65-51) 6 

Dillon Gee had his win streak snapped at five games after getting roughed up by the Bees for seven runs on ten hits in 4.1 innings. The loss moves his AAA record to 6-2 and his ERA up to 5.59. Zach Thornton struck out the side in the 8th inning lowering his WHIP to 1.09 and the opponents average against him to just .217 for the year.

Darrell Ceciliani led the 51’s offense going 2-5 with his 12th double, 12 steal, and 6th homerun of the season. Anthony Recker came off the bench to homer in his only at bat but is hitting .182 over his last ten AAA games. Travis Taijeron was 2-4 with a run scored, his 19th double, and 55th run batted in.

Johnny Monell was 1-3 with two walks while catching and playing first base. Matt Reynolds was 1-4 with his 10th stolen base of the season. Dilson Herrera was 0-2 with two strikeouts before being lifted for Danny Muno in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Both Herrera and Reynolds were ejected by the home plate for arguing balls and strikes.  Box Score

Binghamton (62-51) 4, Trenton 2

Tyler Pill got his second win in as many starts since being demoted back to Binghamton, he went 5.2 innings allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four. Josh Smoker followed him with 1.1 perfect innings with two strikeouts, he has now allowed only two earned runs with nineteen strikeouts in 13.2 AA innings.

Jon Velasquez pitched a perfect 8th inning to lower his ERA to 1.86 and pick up his third hold of the year. Paul Sewald rebounded from only the 5th appearance all year he had allowed a run to pitch a scoreless 9th and pick up his 18th save.

Gavin Cecchini went 2-4 with his 24th double and is now hitting .314/.373/.445 in 101 games this year. L.J. Mazzilli was 1-3 with his 11th RBI which was his first since July 27th. St. Lucie (58-54) 3, Jupiter 2

Dominic Smith was 2-3 with a sac fly knocking in his 69th run of the season, he is now slashing .309/.352/.425 in 100 games. Amed Rosario played in his first game since July 18th and went 1-4 with a run scored and his 18th double of the year. Yeixon Ruiz went 2-4 with a run scored, RBI, and a double while playing 2B and hitting leadoff.

Matt Oberste gave Smith the day off at first base and was 1-4 to extend his hitting streak to 9 games. Victor Cruzado was 1-4 with a run scored, he is hitting .313 with five walks over his last ten games. Utility infielder Phillip Evans went 2-4 and has now hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games.

Scarlyn Reyes was making his third St. Lucie start and got his first Mets win pitching 6 innings allowing only an unearned run on six hits, one walk, and three strikeouts. Erik Goeddel pitched a perfect 7th inning getting two strikeouts and a groundount. Jake Kuebler returned from injury to pitch two innings to collect his first save of the season. Box Score

Savannah (63-48) 4, Charleston 2

Josh Prevost picked up the win in his first start back from the disabled list going 5.1 inning giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits, three walks, and no strikeouts. Luis Mateo made his 4th appearance for the Sand Gnats pitching a scoreless 8th inning while allowing a hit and walk. Christian Montgomery got his first career save with a shutdown 9th striking out one and allowing one hit.

Eudor Garcia was 2-4 with a run scored, 18th double, and his 47th RBI of the season. Michael Katz was 2-4 with a RBI extending his hitting streak to 7 games. Wuilmer Becerra went 1-5 with a run scored and his 4th outfield assist of the year. Luis Guillorme extended his hitting streak to 8 games with a 1-5 night. Box Score

Brooklyn (24-24) 2, Staten Island 1 F/11

Vinny Siena (1-2, walk, RBI) had the game-winning single in the top of the 11th that scored Alfredo Reyes (2-5, two runs). Alex Palsha pitched a scoreless 11th with two strike outs to pick up his 11th save and has not allowed a run in 17.2 innings to start the season.

Lefty and 2015 13th rounder P.J. Conlon continued the dominance to start his career with a perfect inning with two strikeouts. In 10 scoreless pro innings he has allowed three hits and one walk while striking out twelve.

Michael Bernal was 2-5 with a walk and his 42nd strikeout in 146 at bats. David Thompson was the DH going 1-6 with three strikeouts lowering his average to .237 for his career. Brandon Brosher was 1-2 with his 44th strikeout in just 107 at bats this year. Box Score

Kingsport 4 (23-22), Johnson City 3 F/12

The Mets won on a walk-off a single by Milton Ramos who was 3-6 with a double and his 10th RBI of the year. Patrick Mazeika went 3-5 with a walk with his league leading 20th double and 36th RBI. Over his last ten games he has 14 hits, 10 RBI, and 8 runs scored.

Luis Ortega was 2-5 with a walk, run scored, and 7th stolen base. He has now reached base safely in 21 straight games. Luis Carpio was 1-6 with a run scored and has hit safely 9 of 11 games.

Thomas McIlraith pitched 6.1 innings giving up a run on four hits and three walks lowering his ERA to 1.74. Mets 6th rounder Chase Ingram pitched 2.2 perfect innings with two strikeouts to pick up his first pro win. Box Score

Over The Weekend

Logan Verrett picked up his fourth AAA win this year on Saturday pitching 5 innings allowing one run on four and two walks while striking out seven. Dario Alvarez pitched scoreless 8th with two strikeouts, he has not allowed a run in his last 19.1 and has 31 strikeouts in that span. Vic Black picked up his 3rd straight save in as many opportunities working around two walks to pitch a scoreless 9th.

St. Lucie won 7-6 on Saturday but third base prospect Jhoan Urena left the game in in the first inning for a pinch runner after leggin out a RBI infield single. On Friday night Dom Smith hit his 5th homerun of the season and this one was pulled to right field. Smith was 6-12 with three RBI over the weekend.

Savannah swept a doubleheader from Charleston on Saturday with Chris Flexen getting the win in his Sand Gnats debut. He went 6 innings giving up one run while striking out six.

Kingsport won 9-8 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off single by 8th rounder Patrick Mazeika who was 3-5 with three RBI.
