Sacramento 4, Las Vegas (59-47) 2

Matt Reynolds made his return from an injured elbow after going 2-5 with RBI and walk in two rehab games with the GCL Mets. He was 1-4 with his 24th double and two strikeouts in his return while playing all 9 innings at shortstop. Brandon Nimmo was 1-4 with his first AAA double, he played center field and batted 5th. Dilson Herrera was 0-4 out of the leadoff spot.

Luis Cessa made his 5th start for Las Vegas and fell to 0-3 going 5 innings allowing four runs on eight hits but walked no one while striking out seven. Cody Satterwhite and Zack Thornton combined to throw two perfect innings with three strikeouts. Vic Black pitched the 9th inning giving up a single and striking out one batter. He has allowed only one run over last 6 innings. Box Score

Binghamton (58-46) 11, Richmond 3

The B’Mets headed to the top of the 6th inning trailing 2-1 before the bats exploded to score two in the 6th, four in the 7th, and topped it off with four more in the 9th. Gavin Cecchini was once again the star of the night picking up a career high 5 hits including his 22nd double and 47th RBI.

During his current 6-game hitting streak Gavin is 8-19 with five RBI and is 20-47 with only five strikeouts over his last ten games. Jonathan Galvez was 3-5 with three RBI, two runs, double, and a triple. Jared King was 2-5 with three RBI, two runs scored, double, and a triple. In his first start for B’Mets Vince Belnome was 2-4 with two RBI, two runs scored, walk, and a triple while hitting cleanup and playing first base. L.J. Mazzilli went 2-5 with a run scored as he returned to the top of the order.

Rainy Lara struggled despite giving up only one hit in five innings but he walked four and hit two batters resulting in two runs. Josh Smoker pitched 1.1 scoreless with two strikeouts and he has now struck out 15 in 10.2 AA innings. Jeff Walters pitched a scoreless inning for the third straight time for Binghamton. Box Score

St. Lucie had their game rained out and will play a doubleheader today starting at 4 PM.

Savannah (55-47) 3, Asheville 2

The Sand Gnats got a big hit from Luis Guillorme who singled in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning. Guillorme was 2-4 with his 41st RBI raising his average for the year to .297. John Mora was 2-4 extending his hitting streak to 9 games, he is 17-36 with 10 runs scored, 10 RBI, and nine extra base hits in that span.

Wuilmer Becerra was 1-4 and has now hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games. Jonathan Johnson was 2-3 with a walk, RBI, and his 19th stolen base of the season.

Edioglis Villasmil pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the win while Tim Peterson picked up his first save for the Sand Gnats. Box Score

Brooklyn (21-17) 7, Hudson Valley 1

The Cyclones would scored six times in the first three innings and that is all they would need as the pitching combined to give up juts four hits. Tyler Badamo pitched a gem throwing 7 scoreless giving up two hits and four walks while striking out six. He moved to 2-4 on the year and lowered his ERA to 3.08 with the league batting just .185 against him for the year.

Fresh off hitting his first pro homerun the night before Tucker Tharp went 3-4 with a double and run scored out of the leadoff spot. David Thompson was 1-4 with a two-run double and scored a run. Michael Bernal was 1-3 with run scored, RBI, 9th double, and he is 11-34 with six RBI over last 9 games. Catcher Manuel Hilario was 1-3 with two-run homerun. Box Score

Pulaski 4, Kingsport (18-18) 2

Kevin Kaczmarksi lead the offense going 3-5 with his 13th RBI and 7th stolen base of the season. He is now 8-19 with three stolen bases over his last four games and his hitting .320/.387/.422 on the season. Patrick Mazeika was 1-3 with a walk while Dash Winningham was 0-4 with a walk. Ivan Wilson was 1-4 with three strikeouts.

Darwin Ramos went 5 innings giving up two runs on five hits and three walks with seven strikeouts.  Box Score

GCL Mets (19-14) 2, GCL Cardinals 0

The Mets had three of the lefties they drafted pitched yesterday and they combined to go three scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Max Wotell (3rd), Thomas Szapucki (5th), and Sixto Torres (17th) each pitched a scoreless frame to pick up a hold. Wotell has now struck out 10 batters in 5.2 while allowing one hit.

Ricardo Cespedes and Dionis Paulino each had two hits, Desmond Lindsay got the day off. Box Score

Roster Moves

Cory Vaughn was placed on the 7-day DL on the 28th to make room for Nimmo on the roster. Tyler Pill was demoted to Binghamton to slide into John Gant‘s spot in the rotation.

Binghamton signed Vince Belnome on to take Nimmo roster spot, he has been released earlier this year by AAA Durham in the Rays organization. Gilbert Gomez was also activated off the disabled list.

Luis Mateo will continue his comeback from TJS as he moves up from Brooklyn to Savannah. To make room the Sand Gnats lost their closer James Duff to St. Lucie.
