The Mets as a team were 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. However, their stars ended up performing on Saturday. Mauricio had a home run in the top of the first to extend his hit streak to six games and he has driven in a run in four straight. Vientos has had multi-hit days in three of his last six games.

Sánchez continued his strong start with the Mets’ organization as he walked three times and doubled home a run. His OPS through four games 1.478.

Mejía was only able to go three innings, so the bullpen had to eat a lot of innings. Walker threw a scoreless fourth inning to extend his scoreless streak to six consecutive outings.

As for Lavender, the three strikeouts he had are the most he’s had with the Mets in his three outings. Hartwig ended up taking the loss after allowing a pair of RBI singles in the bottom of the ninth.

Double-A

Hartford Yard Goats (17-14) 6, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (13-18) 5

BOX SCORE

The Rumble Ponies ended up striking out 14 times in the loss. With his double Saturday, Peroza has five doubles this month and he is slugging .744. Rudick ended up having his seventh multi-hit performance of the season.

Moreno was able to go six innings for the second time this year. However, he ended up allowing three home runs, which is more than he had allowed in his prior six starts combined.

The bullpen was unable to hold the lead as Clenney allowed a game-tying RBI single in the seventh and Parsons gave up a go-ahead solo home run in the ninth.

The Cyclones managed just three hits in the loss. Parada had one of them as he picked up his ninth double of the season (fifth this month) and he has a hit in nine of his last 11 games.

Osborn’s home run in the top of the second was the only Cyclones runs of the game and his second of the series.

Even though his last start was abbreviated, Stuart now has a 0.75 ERA in three outings in May. The sixth-rouns pick in the 2022 MLB Draft has gone at least five innings in four of his last five starts and he has not allowed more than two earned runs in any start this year.

Martinez has played in seven games this month and he has been red hot at the plate. The 20-year-old outfielder has slashed .423/.423/.885 with three home runs and nine RBIs. Lara ended up picking up his fourth multi-hit game of the month.

Orellana ended up having his second-shortest outing of the season as the Tortugas ended up scoring six runs in the dirst two innings. The five earned runs allowed is the most he’s surrendered in any of his six starts this year.

Loper ended up setting a new career-high for most strikeouts in a game (five) in his eighth professional appearance.
