AAA: Syracuse Mets 0 (14-25) vs. Buffalo Bison 2 (23-17) Box Score

The Mets’ offense could only muster two hits as they fell 2-0 to the Buffalo Bison.

The two hits, both singles, came from Johneshwy Fargas in the third inning and Mark Vientos in the fourth. Fargas is now 7-for-34 with two home runs since joining Syracuse. Vientos has swung the bat well of late and is now slashing .279/.367/.605 in May after posting a .164/.257/.311 line in April.

Szapucki pitched one clean inning recording a strikeout. Felix Pena pitched a bulk role behind him allowing two runs on five hits en route to his fifth loss of the season. Locke St. John, claimed off waivers earlier this month from the Cubs, and Alex Claudio combined to pitch 2.2 scoreless innings.

AA: Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2 (11-25) vs. Akron RubberDucks 4 (22-15) Box Score

Binghamton’s offense was held at bay as well, scoring only two runs on four hits (all singles) as they dropped a fifth-consecutive game,

Jake Magnum picked up half of the Rumble Ponies’ hits as he’s now slashing .339/.413/.446 with four stolen bases in the month of May. Ronny Mauricio drove in a run on a fifth-inning base hit to give him 19 RBIs on the season.

Jose Butto was hit hard in the loss, allowing a three-run home run to George Valera in the third inning, as he fell to 1-4. Nate Fisher pitched well in relief allowing just two hits in 3.1 innings while striking out five. Meanwhile, submariner Josh Hejka allowed his first earned run of the season on a fifth-inning RBI double. The 25-year-old right-hander now has a 0.61 ERA in 14.2 innings between Brooklyn and Binghamton.

A+: Brooklyn Cyclones (15-18) vs. Hudson Valley Renegades (16-19) – Postponed

A: St. Lucie Mets 3 (26-11) vs. Tampa Tarpons 7 (15-21)  Box Score

St. Lucie scored three runs on six hits as their winning streak ended at eight with the loss to Tampa.

Jack-Thomas Wold drove in a run on a second-inning single. Drake Osborn would tie the game 3-3 in the fourth inning with his third home run before the Mets ultimately fell 7-3.

Meanwhile, Omar De Los Santos continued to turn heads with his 21st stolen base of the season. The 22-year-old outfielder now has a .802 OPS through 31 games in St. Lucie.

Dominic Hamel struggled in the start, allowing three runs (two earned) in just 1.2 innings. Trey McLoughlin came in to pitch 2.2 perfect innings in relief before Levi David ultimately earned the loss, allowing three earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning. David issued three walks before he was relived by Raimon Gomez who allowed all three runners to score.
