Mendick led off the game with a home run over the right field fence and continued to have a big day from there. Vientos hit a 417-foot home run to center field and he currently has a 188 wRC+ for the season.

The Mets scored in each of the first four innings in Scranton leading to a 9-4 victory over the RailRiders.

Dibrell continues to struggle in his role as a starter after being expected initially to pitch in the bullpen to begin the 2023 season. Uceta was making his Mets system debut after recently being claimed on waivers. Muckenhirn and Hartwig remain the Syracuse Mets best relievers following good springs in big league camp.

The Mets and RailRiders will play game three of the series on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. Joey Lucchesi is the scheduled starter for Syracuse.

Double-A: Binghamton (1-4) 9, Somerset (3-2) 8, Box Score

The Rumble Ponies got a big day from JT Schwartz their fourth round pick in the 2021 draft out of UCLA.

Binghamton scored three runs in each of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to secure their first win of the young season 9-8 over the Somerset Patriots.

Justin Courtney picked up the save for Binghamton getting Jasson Dominguez to strike out swinging with the tying run on second. However, he did give up a grand slam to the first batter he faced.

Binghamton and Somerset will face off again on Thursday evening with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Luis Moreno will start for the Rumble Ponies, his first of the season.

High-A: Winston-Salem (2-1) 12, Brooklyn (2-3) 7, Box Score

Parada, the Mets’ first pick in the 2022 draft, continues to struggle defensively with two more throwing errors and a passed ball. He has four throwing errors and three passed balls on the season.

Right field Omar De Los Santos had two hits in the game (.940 OPS), but also struck out three times.

McLoughlin was the lone bright spot from the pitching staff and he pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings for the second straight outing.

Right-hander Cameron Foster will make his first pro start on Thursday for the Cyclones at 7:00 p.m.

The St. Lucie Mets had their game postponed and they will be back in action on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. They will also play a doubleheader on Friday.
