The 25-year-old McIlwain is now hitting a whopping .333/.391/.650 with seven doubles, four home runs, 15 RBIs, and only eight strikeouts in 17 June games. A reminder that McIlwain was a D1 quarterback and only played 145 plate appearances in college between his time at South Carolina and Cal.

Moreno was lifted after throwing five no-hit innings, and the no-hitter was broken up in the bottom of the seventh inning with Rentera in his second inning of relief. Moreo has been lights out over his last three starts: 18 IP, 11 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 26 K, 1.50 ERA, 57% ground ball rate

Moreno features a fastball in the mid-90s and has one of the best curveballs in the Mets system that routinely posts elite spin rates (above 3000 rpms) and can get over 60 inches of vertical break.

The Cyclones were getting no-hit until Parada singled with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Almonte was playing in his first rehab game for Brooklyn. The veteran played well in big league camp for the Mets this spring.

The 23-year-old Suarez has struggled to the tune of a 6.85 ERA this season, but has struck out eight batters in back-to-back starts. The 23-year-old Hardy has given up only one earned run in 11 innings this season and has struck out 21 in that span.
