Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 17 (2-1), Syracuse Mets 11 (1-2) Box Score

Deivi Garcia was on the hill for the RailRiders tonight and the Mets tagged him for five runs in three plus innings. Lee, recently mentioned as a potential Friday call-up to the Mets, was one base five times. Though, he did make an error in center and was caught stealing. Maxwell impressed in his Mets organization debut with two extra base hits and five RBIs.

Jake Hager hit his second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the seventh inning. In three games, he has one start in center field, one at second base, and one at shortstop.

The pitching for the Syracuse Mets was not very good tonight as they allowed 17 hits and 17 runs to the RailRiders. Tarpley, who was recently optioned down to Triple-A, continued his recent struggles as he got rocked tonight for seven runs in one inning of work.  Tarpley earned the loss and has yet to show signs of success.

Kilome was acquired via the Asdrubal Cabrera trade and recently DFA’d by the Mets, but cleared waivers. The RailRiders had some real MLB talent in their lineup tonight with Greg Allen, Derek Dietrich, and Miguel Andujar. Andujar homered twice in the game and has three in three games against Syracuse.

Akron 9 (3-0), Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2 (0-3) Box Score

The bats never really came alive tonight as the Rumble Ponies lost another one to the RubberDucks. Vientos, Mets No 8 prospect, was a bright spot for the Rumble Ponies as he had an opposite field homer that he muscled out of the park. Lindsay ambushed the first pitch he saw off the wall in left center for a stand up double and also walked.

The Rumble Ponies defense did not particularly help out the pitching tonight as Tewes let up five runs in three innings but only one run was earned. Gilliam, the Mets 5th round pick in 2018 out of Clemson, struggle and his fastball was sitting mostly 93 mph.

Asheville Tourists 11 (2-1), Brooklyn Cyclones 4 (1-2) Box Score

Baty, Mets No. 5 prospect, continued his hot start with two more doubles, he has three on the season. Overall the Cyclones had seven hits on the night and went 2-for-7 with RISP. Mets No. 2 prospect Ronny Mauricio had the night off.

Rojas and MacDonald got hit pretty hard and failed to combine for more than five innings. The lone bright spot on the pitching side was Michel Otanez striking out the side in the eighth inning.

St. Lucie Mets 9 (2-1), Jupiter Hammerheads 0 (1-2) Box Score 

Crow-Armstrong, the Mets 2020 first rounder, has now reached base in 10 of his 17 plate appearances to begin his pro career. Designated hitter Shervyen Newton knocked in two runs, he leads the team with five RBI.

The 22-year-old Bryant was the Mets 36th round draft pick in 2016. Morris was make his affiliated ball debut after signing with the Mets in March. Right-handers Liam McCall and Austin Faith each tossed a scoreless inning.
