Triple-A

The Syracuse Mets (10-6) had their game against the Durham Bulls (9-6) postponed due to inclement weather. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Thursday with the first pitch for Game 1 occurring at 4:05 p.m. EST.

Double-A

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (5-6) 5, Harford Yard Goats (5-6) 2

BOX SCORE

The Rumble Ponies took the lead right out of the gate in the top of the first with a three-run home run by Schwartz. The first baseman has had multiple hits in three of his last five games and his 13 RBIs are the most of any player in the Eastern League. The top three hitters in Binghamton’s order ended up with six of the seven total hits in the game.

In his third start of the year, Moreno had his longest outing of the season. After Hartford put up a run in each of the first two innings, the right-hander retired 9 of the final 11 hitters that he faced. Nunez came in after Moreno and was dominant. The 26-year-old right-hander had his season-high for strikeouts in an outing and it is the third time in the last two years he has struck out five or more in a game.

High-A

 Wilmington Blue Rocks (6-5) 5, Brooklyn Cyclones (3-8) 3

BOX SCORE

The Cyclones got all three of their runs without recording a hit in the process. In the bottom of the fourth, Ramírez stole his second base of the year and an error allowed Parada to score. Kendall had an RBI groundout in the seventh and the shortstop has a hit in six of his last seven games. As a whole, the Cyclones were 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position and they have now lost four games in a row.

Even in a no-decision, Suarez threw the ball in his first start of the year (second outing) and his sixth start in the last two years. The 23-year-old right-hander did allow an unearned run in the first, but he ended the night on a good note by getting three of the last six batters he faced out via the strikeout. Foster ended up taking the loss and was charged for all four runs allowed in the eighth.

Low-A

St. Lucie Mets (4-7) 8, Lakeland Flying Tigers (5-6) 3

BOX SCORE

All eight runs by the St. Lucie Mets offense were scored in the first two innings and the team had a 5-0 lead before Lakeland could even record a hit. Williams led off the inning with a single and scored on a Villavicencio triple. Reimer followed that up with an RBI single. Then, the team had a two-run home run by Dominguez and a solo home run by Tilien. Tilien has recorded multiple hits in three of his last four games.

Reimer had four hard-hit balls (at least 95 mph) in the game including two of more than 100 mph.

Orellana ended up taking advantage of the early run support and the 20-year-old right-hander has not allowed a run while striking out four in each of his first two starts. He escaped trouble in the first and the lone hit he allowed was an infield single in the second inning. Orellana’s fastball in the outing was up to 97 mph and his high spin slider (2755 rpm average) had a 60% whiff rate.
