Two of the five games scheduled for Saturday were rained out for the New York Mets’ organizational teams, leaving almost half of the initial slate of play. Results varied on Saturday, but strong pitching was a common theme across all levels.

Syracuse (Triple-A) is now set for a doubleheader on Sunday with the Buffalo Bisons, and no plans for the makeup of Saturday’s rainout were announced for the Cyclones (High-A).

Double-A

Richmond Flying Squirrels (31-12) 5, Binghamton Rumble Ponies (15-29) 1

Box Score

Girton struggled mightily on Saturday, walking an absurd seven batters and allowing five earned runs in his two-plus innings of work. He gave up all five earned runs and allowed nine base runners, which is greater than the outs he recorded.

The duo of Garcia and Orellana followed up Girton with beautiful long relief, but the Rumble Ponies’ offense did not do enough to keep them in the game.

The bats were quiet on Saturday, with just five hits on the day as a whole. Perozo and Lorusso possessed the long extra-base hits for the team, with Lorusso lining his seventh homer of the year.

Reimer continued his steady climb back to his normal offensive numbers with a .895 OPS in the month of May. Otherwise, the Binghamton bats did not do much of anything against Richmond

High-A

Single-A

St. Lucie Mets (19-25) 4, Palm Beach Cardinals (24-20) 2

Box Score

Carreno was dominant for the Mets, striking out over half of the batters he recorded out, and was followed up by five strong innings from his bullpen. Carreno has been strong this year for the Mets, but seven strikeouts in four shutout innings might be his best performance of the season.

Mijares has excelled at times in a long relief outing, but has been just as susceptible to tumultous outings. He avoided that and was incredibly effective on Saturday night.

The St. Lucie bats were solid on Saturday night with contributions up and down the lineup. A pair of homers from De Oleo and Salgado drove the Mets’ offense, but five walks on the day helped keep the pressure on the Jupiter pitching staff.

For Salgado, it was his seventh homer on the season, and he continues to push the envelope for a promotion to High-A Brooklyn.

  • RHP Camden Lohman: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 2 K (4.80 ERA)
  • RHP John Valle: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (0.00 ERA)
  • RHP Caden Wooster: IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (6.75 ERA)
  • LHP Luis Sotillo: IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, K (1.93 ERA)

2025 eighth-round selection Camden Lohman struggled for the Mets on Saturday, allowing all five runs that the pitching staff surrendered. The bullpen behind him was incredibly effective, though, tossing for 3 1/3 perfect. 2023 draft selection John Valle has been held back by injuries since he was drafted, but has been effective to begin his 2026 campaign.

A pair of veteran minor league infielders were on rehab assignment on Saturday night, with Boston Baro and Grae Kessinger ramping up their baseball activities in an effort to return to full-season ball before long. Both reached base twice, with Baro being pulled for a pinch hitter during the game and Kessinger lasting the entire game at shortstop.

Elsewhere in the lineup, De Aza and Rincon both went deep, with both now having more than one on the season.
