Sacramento 3, Las Vegas (6-7) 1

Gabriel Ynoa was awesome in his third 51s start, going 6.1 scoreless innings allowing only two hits and two walks while striking out three. He now has three no-decisions to begin 2016 despite a 1.53 ERA and 0.96 WHIP to start his Triple-A career. Jeff Walters gave up a walk-off two-run homer to Gorkys Hernandez in the bottom of the 9th inning. Sacramento came into the series having won only two games all season, they have taken two out of three from the 51s with the final game coming tonight.

The only 51s player with more than one hit was outfielder Travis Taijeron who went 2-for-4 with a double, his first steal of the year and scored the only run. Brandon Nimmo was 1-for-4 with a walk, he is hitting .217 on the season but has looked good defensively in center field. Gavin Cecchini collected a hit and walk raising his slash line to .195/.340/.195 in 41 at bats. T.J. Rivera was out of the lineup a night after getting hit in the leg with a 95 MPH fastball. Erie 10, Binghamton (5-7) 8 F/10

For the second straight night B-Mets closer Akeel Morris failed to protect a 9th inning lead and ended up getting the loss in last night’s blow opportunity. He allowed two runs on a homerun in the 9th and two more tuns in the 10th. He has already allowed two homeruns this year after giving up only two in 61.1 minor league innings in 2015. The tall lefty Andrew Barbosa made his B-Mets debut going five innings, he gave up three runs on seven hits and struck out five without walking a batter.

Catcher Xorge Carrillo was 3-for-5 with a homerun, two RBI and two runs scored on the night. Dominic Smith went 2-for-5 with a RBI, run scored and stole his first base of the season. Overall he has struggled at the point though hitting .196/.222/.353 while striking out 13 times in 12 games. Derrik Gibson hit a solo homer in the first inning for his first as a Met and now has a .404 OBP on the season.

Infielder Jeff McNeil has been out of the lineup since April 12th with an abdominal strain but has not been placed on the disabled list yet. Box Score

St. Lucie (9-6) 5, Charlotte 4 F/13

The Mets were able to win on a walk-off wild pitch that scored Phillip Evans despite blowing a 4-0 lead heading to the 7th inning. Corey Oswalt had his second straight scoreless start, this time going 5.2 innings allowing three hits and two walks compared to five strikeouts. Josh Edgin faced one batter, striking out a lefty on a slider. It was his fifth rehab appearance, he has thrown 3.1 innings for St. Lucie with five strikeouts and has given up one run in two hits.

Amed Rosario went 2-for-4 with a sac fly, walk and stole his fourth base of the year. He is now hitting .302/.328/.492 with a league leading four triples and is tied for second in the league with 19 hits. John Mora reached base four times with a walk and three hits including his first triple of the season after hitting 12 in 2015. Wuilmer Becerra continues to be the DH as he rests his sore shoulder, he was 1-for-5 with a run scored and has seven hits over his last five games. Luis Guillorme and Jhoan Urena each had two hits on the night. Box Score

Columbia (8-7) 13, Greenville 9

The Fireflies blew multiple leads in the game but scored five runs in the top of the 9th inning to secure the win. Third baseman David Thompson was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI including this run producing single. He is leading the South Atlantic League with 16 RBI and is second in the league with 15 runs scored.

Fellow 2015 draft pick Vinny Siena had four hits on the night as well, two of them were doubles and he knocked in two runs while scoring two of his own. He leads the league with 15 walks and is tied for second with his seven doubles. Dash Winningham went 3 for 5 two doubles, RBI, scored a run and narrowly missed hitting a couple of homeruns. Ivan Wilson hit his first homerun of the season, a long two-run shot in the 4th inning to go along with two doubles.

Fireflies starter Thomas McIlraith lasted just 3.2 innings last night, he allowed five runs on nine hits and issued three walks while striking out only one batter. Former Brooklyn Cyclones closer Alex Palsha picked up his first win of the season pitching 2.2 scoreless innings of relief. He struck out five on the night and has 15 strikeouts on the season in 8.1 innings. Box Score
