Alonso, who had been just 1-21 since his three-homer game, had a solid rebound with a double and a walk. McNeil has been on fire recently, going 6 for his last 12 with 4 extra-base hits. He got the 51s on the board in the third inning with a three-run homer. He now has a 1.046 OPS in Las Vegas after posting a 1.029 OPS in Binghamton. Kivlehan was a huge boost to the offense last night, putting them up 7-0 with a grand slam and later extending the lead with a solo shot.

Gagnon had probably his best start as a 51, en route to getting his first win with the team in his 16th start. Although he has been inconsistent, he has pitched better than the record, having now thrown four consecutive quality starts. Regnault, who has also had a very inconsistent season, threw a much-needed two scoreless innings to complete the shutout.

Binghamton (38-40) 3, Portland (29-49) 2  Box Score

Binghamton’s offense was held to just three runs on seven hits in Friday night’s game. Mora reached base three times and is now hitting .325/.366/.481 in June. Michael, who was just announced as one of five Rumble Ponies to make the Eastern League roster, extended his hitting streak to eight games and is hitting .305/.411/.474 in June.

Jannis started the game for Binghamton and, after giving up two unearned runs in the first inning, shut down the Sea Dogs offense through the seventh inning. He needed just 97 pitches to make it through the seven innings. Zamora, another Rumble Pony to be named to the All-Star game, struck out two in a perfect inning. Taylor worked around three hits to preserve the one run lead and close out the game.

St. Lucie (29-45) 5, Clearwater (38-38) 3  Box Score

Gimenez got the Mets on the board with a solo home run in the first inning. The home run was his fifth of the season, which is new career-high for the young shortstop. Carpio extended the lead to three runs with a two-run homer in the second; the home run was his fifth of the season. The recently promoted Ali Sanchez went 1-for-3 in his first game with St. Lucie.

Peterson made his third start with St. Lucie and had a very untypical outing for him as he set a career-high in walks and career-low in strikeouts. Still, he was able to limit the damage to just two runs over 5.2 innings. Villines now has a 5:0 K:BB ratio in St. Lucie and a 59:5 K:BB ratio for the season as a whole.

Asheville (31-44) 5, Columbia (38-36) 3  Box Score

The Fireflies could score just three runs on seven hits in the 10-inning game. Moreno had two base hits, continuing an excellent June in which he has hit .308/.345/.462. Vasquez is hitting .342 over his last 10 games, but he has also struck out 10 times over the same span.

Dibrell continued his solid season by giving up just one earned run and striking out seven batters over six innings. Over is last ten starts, Dibrell has a 2.31 ERA and has given up more than two earned runs just once. While he has had issues with walks, Dibrell had a season-low one walk in this start and has an impressive 10.7 K/9 in 2018. O’Neil has struck out 24 batters in 16 innings this season. Henry gave up the lead in the 10th inning, but has otherwise been very good so far in 2018.

Brooklyn (10-4) 13, Vermont (7-6) 7  Box Score

The Cyclones offense exploded for 13 runs on sixteen hits in this game. Every player in the starting lineup reached base at least once and five players had multi-hit games. After starting his professional career just 1-for-15, Rodriguez has had two straight multi-hit games and had his first career extra base hit on Friday.

Brooklyn pitchers, as a whole, struggled with control in Friday’s game, as they walked nine batters while striking out only seven. Oxford had gone 11.2 innings without allowing a run this season before allowing two earned runs in the seventh inning.

Johnson City (4-5) 7, Kingsport (7-2) 6  Box Score

The Mets had a very good offensive performance in Friday night’s game as they scored six runs on ten hits. Dirocie continued his ridiculously hot start to 2018 with four hits, including his second home run of the year. Dirocie has seven extra base hits in eight games and has struck out just once. Santana continues his hot hitting and now has five multi-hit games in his last seven games.

Peden made his second start of the season and, while it didn’t go nearly as well as his first start, he still managed to have a very solid 5:0 K:BB ratio. Hickey, who was drafted in the 28th round of this June’s draft, pitched a scoreless inning in his professional debut.

The Mets took a big lead early in the game by scoring five runs in the fourth inning. Mauricio now has three straight two-hit games and has hit for an impressive amount of power with five extra base hits through his first 10 games. Kelenic returned to the Gulf Coast League after being introduced at Citi Field on Wednesday night and reached base three times.

Jimenez started the game for the Mets and pitched five solid innings, which was an improvement from his last start in which he allowed three runs in four inning. De Jesus came into the game in relief and continues to pitch well in the GCL.

DSL Mets1 (13-11) 3, DSL Cardinals Blue (17-7) 0  Box Score

Regnault hit his third home run of the season to give the Mets a 3-0 lead in the third inning. Hernandez now has just 2 hits in his last 25 at bats.

Three Mets pitchers combined to limit the Cardinals to three hits in the shutout. Sosa started the game and threw three hitless innings, while also walking three batters. Rodriguez now has 22 strikeouts in 15.1 innings pitched.

The Mets were held to just five hits in the game and were only 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position, but they were still able to score the three runs needed for the victory. As a team, the Mets2 are hitting just .212/.331/.313 on the season.

The 16-year-old Marcano started the game for the Mets and pitched four solid innings. Marcano has been good in his first professional season, striking out 12 and allowing four earned runs in 10.1 innings. He’s also walked seven batters in 2018, but some control issues are to be expected of a player of his age.
