While only getting six hits on the day and nine total baserunners, the Rumble Ponies provided just enough spark to win the game. Rowdey Jordan stole yet another base on what has been a good season overall for the utility player. Luisangel Acuña, after getting hit by a pitch in the first game of the series, returned and hit a sacrifice fly to extend the Rumble Ponies lead after Hayden Senger’s solo home run. Senger was recently named the Platinum Glove winner for the Mets farm system.

Dominic Hamel had the longest outing of his career and has continued on his dominant stretch, with a 1.62 ERA over his last 10 starts. The last time Hamel allowed an earned run was on August 25th. He has 21 2/3 scoreless innings since, with 32 strikeouts and only eight hits given up. Paul Gervase, also riding an excellent wave for the season, closed the game and the series out for the Rumble Ponies, who advance to the Championship Series and will play the Erie SeaWolves starting Sunday. The first game of the series will be in Binghamton.
