It was an exciting night for the Mets minor league affiliates, with plenty of offense at all levels. Francisco Alvarez hit a home run in his first game of his rehab stint with Double-A Binghamton. High-A Brooklyn’s offense showed out again, with Chris Suero launching two more home runs in his impressive start to the minor league season. Mets 2023 first-round pick Colin Houck had a breakout game with a home run and triple for Low-A St. Lucie.

Double-A

Binghamton Rumble Ponies 2 (3-5), Reading Fightin Phils (4-6) 12

Box Score

A big fourth inning by Reading led them to the victory on Tuesday night over Binghamton, 10-2. In his first rehab appearance with Double-A Binghamton, Francisco Alvarez had a two-hit game, including a long solo home run. Alvarez was hit by a pitch on his left hand (same one as the hamate injury) in the top of the sixth inning. He stayed in the game to run the bases but was taken out before the bottom of the seventh. He caught eight innings in his previous rehab game.

Pintaro, who has not had a strong open to the season, could not give the Rumble Ponies much length on Tuesday. Moreno, who came in for relief, struggled mightily, giving up six runs and only recording one out.

High A

Aberdeen IronBirds (5-5) 7, Brooklyn Cyclones (7-3) 8

Box Score

The Cyclones outlasted Aberdeen Tuesday night by a score of 8-5. Brooklyn’s offense has been consistently hot in the first 10 games of the season. A large portion is Chris Suero, who launched his fourth and fifth home runs of the season. 2024 first-rounder Carson Benge continues his on-base prowess, getting on three more times on Tuesday. Boston Baro was on base four times in the outing with a hit and three walks.

Santucci was stellar in his start on Tuesday–striking out six batters in only 3 1/3 innings. Only one of the hits against Santucci left the infield. The latter half of the bullpen had trouble locking the game down–Troesser and Layonel Ovalles allowed earned runs and combined seven baserunners in their 1 2/3 innings pitched.

Low-A

Tampa Tarpons (5-5) 6, St. Lucie Mets (5-5) 17

Box Score

St Lucie’s bats put together their best performance of the young season, winning 17-6 over the Tampa Tarpons. Rehabbers Jeff McNeil and Jared Young put together good appearances, but the young prospects stole the show. Trace Willhoite went deep twice on Tuesday, while former first-rounder Colin Houck launched his first home run of the season.

McNeil used a torpedo bat on Tuesday night and had the hardest hit ball of the game with a 108.5 mph single.

St. Lucie’s pitching staff was not stressed, as they were supplied with plenty of runs on Tuesday evening. Irving Cota continued his solid start to the season, maintaining his low ERA (0.95). The 20-year-old Aracena struggled despite hitting 99 mph three times.
