The Mets drafted Desmond Lindsay in the 2nd round this year from the Out-Of-Door Academy in Florida. MMO’s own Quinn Barry profiled the center fielder here. His start to the year was delayed because he was rehabbing a hamstring injury in Port St. Lucie.

While Desmond technically made his debut yesterday because the GCL Mets game was suspended in the bottom of the first inning. Today he finally got his first pro at bat and didn’t disappoint with a single in the middle of a two-run 2nd inning rally. He was caught trying to steal 2nd base to end the rally.

In his second at bat he walked with a runner on in the 4th inning before striking out in the 7th inning and the 9th inning in his final at bat of the game. He played all 9 innings in center field and caught three flies balls that were hit to him. Box Score

Matt Reynolds who was placed on the 7-day disabled list by Las Vegas on July 8th with an elbow injury. He was in the GCL Mets lineup yesterday in the DH slot batting 2nd before the game was suspended. When the game resumed today he was replaced in the lineup. Reynolds is hitting .270/.327/.410 for the year but mustering only a slash line of .229/.279/.361 away from Cashman Field.

Josh Prevost, the Mets 2014 5th rounder, was the starter for the Mets in the suspended game seeing his rehab appearance cut short after one scoreless inning. Josh was 2-4 with 4.00 ERA and 1.267 WHIP for Savannah in 7 starts to begin this season, he has yet to allow a homerun in 65 pro innings.

The GCL Mets lost the first game of what was suppose to be a doubleheader on a walk-off RBI force out. Mets 3rd rounder Max Wotell took his first pro loss giving up one run on one hit and two walks while striking out two. It was the first hit and run he has allowed in 4.2 innings, he has eight strikeouts in that time. Box Score

Las Vegas got tromped last night by Reno 12-2 with Tyler Pill making the spot start and getting rocked for seven runs while recording just two outs. Vic Black worked around two singles to pitch a scoreless 7th inning, he threw only 10 pitches with 7 for strikes. Catcher Nelfi Zapata pitched a perfect 8th inning on 10 pitches. Box Score

Savannah crushed Hagerstown 16-5 including a 7-run 8th inning, Eudor Garcia led the charge going 4-5 with three doubles, three runs scored, five RBI, walk, and his 8th homerun of the season. John Mora was 2-4 with double, walk, two runs, three RBI, and his 4th homerun. Wuilmer Becerra 1-5 with a walk and two runs scored. Box Score

Brooklyn lost 4-3 to Mahoning Valley with the Mets 7th rounder this year Corey Taylor throwing a scoreless 7th inning stretching his streak to 10 innings without allowing a run to start pro career. Box Score

Kingsport won 5-1 behind a three-run homerun by Ivan Wilson who was 2-4 with two strikeouts. Box Score
