Matt Bowman got his first win of the year after starting the game with 4.1 perfect innings before allowing three runs (two earned) in 5.2 innings. Early in the game Bowman was pounding his sinking fastball down in the zone which resulted in 11 groundouts on the day. Cody Satterwhite relieved Bowman and stranded two inherited runners but allowed a run when he came out for the next inning actually lowering his ERA to 11.05. Scott Rice came in to face on lefty and got him out, lowering his ERA to 1.35 and lefties have hit just .083 against him. The Mets were losing 3-1 going into the top of the 6th until Michael Conforto homered for the second straight day with a two-run shot to tie the game.
