Fresno 8, Las Vegas 4

Matt Bowman struggled to his 3rd loss to open the season allowing six runs on ten hits over four innings of work. Matt now has a 10.93 ERA on the season and has given up five homeruns in only 14 innings. The 51’s could muster only five hits on the night and Dilson Herrera had three of them, 1B, 2B, and his first homerun of the season. Herrera also had two RBI and his second steal but was also picked off 2B after the steal. Herrera has now had 6 multiple hit games in a row while hitting 14-28 over that span. Matt Reynolds went 0-5 on the night halting his five game hitting streak but still has a .314/.356/.529 slash line. Darrell Ceciliani left the game in the 3rd inning without an obvious injury, hopefully he is ok with the Las Vegas roster already stretched thin. Chasen Bradford threw a scoreless inning in relief and is up to 6.2 innings on the year without giving up a run. Binghamton 4, Erie 3

Brandon Nimmo came up in the 5th inning with Eudy Pina on the 3rd and Jared King on 2nd with the game tied 2-2 driving them both in with a line drive single to CF that would be the eventual game winner for the 7-5 Binghamton Mets. Nimmo finished the day with three including a double and now his slash line up to .261/.340/.435. Jayce Boyd, Pina, Jairo Perez, and Xorge Carrillo all finished with two hits has the Mets had 12 on the night. Mets starter Seth Lugo followed up his great AA debut with another good performance picking up his first win giving up two runs while striking out seven over 5.2 innings. Former infielder Jake Kuebler made his AA debut stranding two inherited runners in the 6th inning. This is the right hander’s 3rd year in the Mets farm system as a pitcher after spending the first 5 in the Royals system playing 1B and 3B. Gavin Cecchini missed his 3rd straight game with a sore groin but his expected to return the lineup today. Box Score The Mets will look to win the series today with Matt Koch making his 3rd start of the season at 6:35 ET.

St. Lucie had its game against Jupiter rained out and will play a doubleheader starting at 4:05 ET today with Miller Diaz in Game 1 and Robert Gsellman in Game 2.

Savannah 6, Rome 5

The Sand Gnats were losing 5-4 heading into the bottom of the 8th before a wild pitch scored Luis Guillorme (1-3, BB, 2 R’s) to tie it up and a RBI groundout by Jon Leroux (1-3, 3 RBI) scored John Mora (1-3, BB, RBI, 2 R’s) to take the lead. Wuilmer Becerra was 0-2, BB, R, and also had a the key sac bunt that put Guillorme and Mora in scoring position in the 8th. Martires Arias started for the Gnats going 5 innings allowing two earned runs on seven hits. Lefty David Roseboom (17th round pick 2014) threw two scoreless innings in relief to pick up his full season ball win.
