The New York Mets have announced they’ve invited Tim Tebow to big league camp for Spring Training.

Tebow, 30, hit .226/.309/.347 with eight home runs and 52 RBIs in 126 games in the minor leagues last season between the Columbia Fireflies (A) and St. Lucie Mets (A+). He showed improvement as the season went along both offensively and defensively and looks to prove himself as a baseball player further in 2018.

Other Mets non-roster spring invitees include Peter Alonso, P.J. Conlon, Kevin Kaczmarski, Patrick Mazeika, Drew Smith, Corey Taylor, David Thompson, Adonis Uceta, Zach Borenstein, Phillip Evans, José Lobatón and Matt Purke.

Did you really think we’d go an entire offseason without hearing about Tebow?
